Philippines Navy now has a new chief. Rear Admiral Jesus C. Millan replaced Vice Admiral Jose Luis Alano who reached the age of mandatory retirement, 56, yesterday. Change-of-command ceremony was led by President Aquino held yesterday at Heracleo Alano Naval Base, Sangley Point, Cavite City.
Before Millan’s appointment as Navy chief, he was the commander of Naval Forces Western Mindanao. He is a member of Philippine Military Academy Class of 1982.
All three Philippine military divisions now have a new chief, the Army last February, the Air Force last week, and yesterday for Navy.
“The AFP welcomes the appointment of Rear Admiral Jesus C Millan as the Philippine Navy’s Flag Officer in Command,” said AFP spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Ramon Zagala.
