4,000 job openings for OFWs in UAE


MANILA - Filipino workers are in demand in the United Arab Emirates.
The Department of Labor and Employment said more than 4,000 job openings await those with the necessary skills.
The DOLE has announced openings for male workers with experience in the petroleum industry.
The Emirates Petroleum Products Company (EPPCO) is looking for 300 petrol fillers and 10 oil change technician.
"Sweldo umaabot ng P20,807-P25,000. Titingnan ang experience and personality," said DOLE spokesperson Director Nicon Fameronag.
EPPCO is likewise looking for cooks, chefs, waiters, baristas, outlet supervisors, and order takers.
Applicants with the required training have a good chance of landing the jobs like Jefferson Tulang who is refining his cooking skills at the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
"Gusto kong mag abroad, makapag-ipon at mag-tayo ng sariling restaurant," Tulang said.
Sales assistant positions are also open for 200 males and 200 females, as well as cashiers with experience working at large supermarkets.
The UAE is also looking for more than 20 store managers and field trainers.
However, DOLE has this reminder for interested applicants.
"Puntahan ang POEA (Philippine Overseas Employment Administratio (POEA) hanapin ang mga job order na lehitimo," Fameronag said.
The DOLE added there are more job openings in the UAE which they will be announcing in the coming months.
