There will be no lasting US bases in the Philippines under the proposed resistance collaboration between Manila and Washington, Armed Forces Chief of Staff, General Emmanuel Bautista, said on Tuesday.
In a meeting on ANC, Bautista said the Constitution does not permit outside army installations in the nation, with the exception of under an arrangement endorsed by the Senate.
The proposed improved barrier collaboration understanding will augment the right to gain entrance of American troops to nearby military offices while Philippine powers will be offered access to structures that will be set up by the US.
Bautista said the arrangement will supplement the Philippine-US shared barrier bargain and enhance operations including Filipino and American troops.
"We're anticipating upgraded protection participation, to better collaboration, interoperability with our companions and partners. We have a common safeguard settlement with the United States and we'd jump at the chance to fortify that further. Furthermore we have been companions and associates with United States for quite a while, and we will be, later on, for a more drawn out time," he said.
The arrangement is relied upon to be marked later not long from now, in time for US President Barack Obama's visit to Manila.
