Megawide-GMR's vision of the Mactan Cebu International Airport

The Mactan Cebu International Airport (MCIA) is Public–private Partnership (PPP) venture which plans to modernize the airstrip. It includes the development of another world-class traveler terminal building in MCIA, with a limit of something like 8 million travelers for every year.

Megawide and its Indian accomplice GMR (Megawide-GMR consortium) submitted the most elevated offer of P14.4 billion for the venture. They have been recompensed the arrangement.

Nonetheless, the task may hit a tangle, as Senator Sergio Osmeña III will document a body of evidence against the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) for professedly waiving their guidelines.

One of the issues Osmeña raised is the charge that "GMR has a supposedly sketchy budgetary position and has probably defectively performed in different airstrips."
