MANILA – The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is reviewing a bunch of Lily's Peanut Butter in the wake of being found to hold an inadmissible level of a destructive substance.
The FDA said it has issued an item review request to Newborn Food Products, Inc. for Lily's Peanut Butter (170 grams) recognized under Lot No. A1 10:26, with expiry date "052314."
The FDA said this specific group of peanut spread was found to hold "an unsuitable level of Aflatoxin."
"The review includes just the specified item under the said part number and no other Lily's peanut spread variants and sizes are influenced by the review," the FDA said.
"The producer is requested to quickly review the aforementioned influenced item. All retail outlets convey the item under the distinguished part number are requested to arrange with the producer in regards to the review and suspend offering the influenced item to the buyers."
The FDA said it keeps on leading overseeing and business reconnaissance of all shelled nut based nourishment items to ensure the soundness of the buyer
